More questions and answers
Why does this Program work?

Because the main reason for success in life is a high level of emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence lies at the very core of fulfilling relationships and success in life, of physical and mental health, of self-confidence and inner strength, and of a sense of well-being and inner wealth.

These are the primary aims of human desire.

Clearly, this is not a wish-fulfilment Program in which you perform a “planting a wish” ritual on the day of the New Moon and then merely wait for life to materialise it for you.

On the contrary, this Program shows you that if you want the seed of your desire to germinate, it requires sustained effort to become aware and to practise what you have learned in life. Or, to use Terry Pratchett’s words:

If you trust in yourself… and believe in your dreams… and follow your star… you’ll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren’t so lazy.”

Can it be used instead of psychotherapy?

Individual work with the 29 assignments and the accompanying readings is designed as a self-help Program. It cannot replace the individualised approach of psychotherapy sessions; however, if understood and applied correctly, the Program can offer meaningful opportunities for self-healing. This is because a significant part of psychotherapy consists in offering knowledge and new perspectives that help us understand the causes of what troubles us.

The knowledge you will gain here will help you become aware of some of the most widespread cognitive distortions and replace beliefs that distort your contact with reality with ones that take into account its dual nature.

In addition, one of the main criteria for mental health is a person’s capacity for wholeness – the ability to integrate the rejected parts of oneself, including the painful truths about life. The truth about how we react to life’s circumstances is revealed through our emotions. When we reject our painful emotions, we reject the truth about how we feel. This rejection is one of the reasons we become ill – both physically and mentally.

Working with this Program will help you understand, accept, and care for your painful emotions, thus supporting higher levels of mental health.

In this sense, working with the assignments and readings may have a distinct psychotherapeutic effect. And if you continue to practise the new mindset in your everyday life until it becomes an embodied part of your habitual responses, it can have a lasting positive effect on your mental health and overall well-being.

Will I have access to the program after it ends?

After you complete the Program, you will continue to have access to it. From the very next New Moon, you can begin the assignments again from the start or practise them at random using the page created for this purpose: My Practice for the Day.

It is highly beneficial to continue practising, as the purpose of this Program is to create the conditions for building habits of emotional intelligence. New mindsets require repeated practice in order to become integrated into your personality. Moreover, we always carry unfulfilled desires that can serve as a source of energy for learning and growth, inviting us to evolve and become more fully ourselves.

I do not have enough time to do all the readings for the day...

If you are unable to go through all the accompanying readings for a given assignment, you can still gain a great deal from working with it. It is enough to focus on the most essential part – reading and practising the assignment for the day.

Reading the assignment takes less than ten minutes, and practising it does not require additional time, as it involves engaging the inner Observer while you move through the activities of your daily life. All that is needed is a willingness to pause when emotions begin to arise and to bring awareness and understanding to them.

Most importantly, when the next lunar month begins, you will have the opportunity to return to anything you were unable to read or practise. We need repeated engagement in order to build a lasting mindset that transforms the way we respond to life. Creating the conditions for this is one of the great strengths of the Program.

What is the Reflection Room?

This is a dedicated page that gives you the opportunity to explore a topic that is important to you – or one for which you are seeking a solution or new perspectives – through a series of guided questions.
You can use the first set of questions to write down your initial thoughts about the topic, and then explore your habitual ways of thinking through the second set of questions.

The vast majority of our problems arise from the misinterpretations of the mind, as well as from the one-sidedness of our conscious attitude. This is why a central focus of cognitive psychotherapy is the examination and correction of the thoughts that distort our perception of reality.

Your individual work in the Reflection Room cannot replace meeting with a cognitive psychotherapist, but it can offer you the opportunity to ask yourself some of the most important questions you would encounter in such a therapeutic setting.
